For the fragrance house Atelier Cologne, I served as creative director, translating the narrative behind each scent into visual imagery. I sourced all props and styled intricate vignettes, carefully balancing shapes and colors to create thoughtfully composed scenes that aligned with the story behind each fragrance.
Orange Sanguine -
The inspiration behind this scent is a cherished memory: friends gathered on a terrace for breakfast, with the aroma of freshly peeled oranges mingling with the laughter and the sound of waves crashing against the cliffs. This imagery evokes warmth, joy, and the simple pleasures of life.
Grand Neroli-
The narrative for this scent describes a scene where “the windows were thrown open to let in the afternoon sun, along with a breeze of orange blossoms. She secured fresh flowers into her hair and her eyes sparkled with excitement and anticipation.” This imagery evokes a sense of calm confidence and romantic readiness, embodying the fragrance's fresh yet sophisticated character.
Bois Blond-
The narrative behind Bois Blonds paints a picture of a tranquil afternoon: "They spoke in whispers, breathing at the pace of the wind. The sun streamed through the trees in long rays of gold. Suddenly, the sky became the muted colors of twilight, it felt like hours had passed in a moment or that time had stopped altogether." This imagery suggests a moment suspended in time, where nature's beauty fosters introspection and calm.
Trefle Pur-
The narrative behind Atelier Cologne's Trèfle Pur begins with the evocative line: “He had a good feeling about it. That’s the thing about luck—you feel it or you don’t. This moment, he felt it.” “He found the morning’s rain had left everything looking greener and a bit sharper, like he was seeing it all for the first time, and he headed off with a spring in his step.” This imagery captures a moment of clarity and renewal, where the world appears refreshed and full of possibilities.
Oolang Infini-
The story behind Oolang Infini paints a picture of a writer seeking solace and inspiration in a tranquil, snow-covered retreat: "His breath fogged the window while he watched new snow fall upon the frozen lake. He came here to catch up on his writing and escape the city. At that moment, the fireplace crackled, ice settled in his glass, and his thoughts made their way back to the ink." This narrative evokes a sense of peaceful solitude, where the quietude of nature fosters creativity and reflection.
Vanille Insensée-
The story accompanying Vanille Insensée evokes a moment of unexpected reconnection: "He wove through the crowd when suddenly his heart quickened. That scent. It was hers. He had worn it first until she wore it for herself. Now there she was before him, and the magic of years past came flooding back in a moment." This narrative captures the essence of shared memories and the profound impact a scent can have in rekindling emotions and moments from the past.
For Longchamp’s vibrant and energetic Spring/Summer 2012 campaign “Oh My Dog”, I worked as a prop stylist, responsible for sourcing a range of iconic New York urban props—including police barricades, U.S. mailboxes, construction barriers, and a variety of dog leashes and collars—and styling them to enhance the visual rhythm of the choreographed scenes. The campaign featured Coco Rocha and Liisa Winkler dancing through the streets of DUMBO, Brooklyn, accompanied by dogs and dressed in Longchamp’s seasonal collection. Choreographed by Blanca Li and photographed by Dane Shitagi, the campaign drew inspiration from 1950s fashion photography, blending playful movement with bold urban styling.
